Earlier this month, Ofcom announced proposals for delivering next generation broadband networks to new build homes and offices. It also said that there will be a survey of the UK infrastructure to determine the viability of expanding this network to other regions.

Ofcom hopes to encourage investment in the new technology, which could see broadband speeds reaching 100 mbps, whilst maintaining a competitive market for potential providers.
